Why It Works
Science, Not Scent
There's a reason dealerships use this on every trade-in. Ozone doesn't rely on fragrance — it eliminates the source.
Molecular-Level Destruction
Ozone (O₃) doesn't mask odors — it oxidizes and permanently destroys the organic compounds that cause them. Smoke, pet dander, mold, bacteria, viruses. Gone at the source.
Reaches Where Nothing Else Can
Sprays and wipes touch surfaces. Ozone gas penetrates deep into foam padding, HVAC ducts, under seats, door panel liners — everywhere odor hides and every spray can't reach.
No Chemicals. No Residue.
After the treatment cycle, ozone naturally converts back to clean oxygen (O₂). Your cabin is left with nothing but fresh air — no fragrance, no coating, no chemical smell.
Professional-Grade Equipment
We use the FM-1 commercial ozone generator — not the cheap Amazon units. The FM-1 produces sustained, high-concentration ozone output required for true sanitization results.
Powerful — But Honest About Results
For most vehicles, one treatment delivers complete odor elimination. Severe or long-term smells (heavy smoke, deep pet urine, flood damage) may require 2–3 sessions. We'll always tell you upfront what to expect.
Used by Auto Dealerships & Restoration Pros
Ozone treatment is the industry standard for smoke remediation on trade-in vehicles. We bring dealership-level sanitation directly to your driveway.
The Process
What Happens On-Site
Vehicle is Sealed
All windows raised, HVAC set to full recirculate mode. The FM-1 unit is placed inside the cabin and activated.
Ozone Generation Begins
The machine converts ambient oxygen (O₂) into ozone (O₃) — a powerful oxidizing agent that attacks and destroys organic molecules on contact.
Full Cabin Saturation
Ozone fills the entire interior — reaching every vent, under every seat, inside every door panel and headliner pocket. Areas no spray or wipe can access.
Natural Off-Gassing
After the active cycle, windows are opened and ozone converts back to clean O₂. No residue. No chemicals. Just fresh air where odor used to live.
Safety Protocol
All passengers, children, and pets must exit the vehicle for the duration of the treatment cycle. Ozone is harmful to breathe in concentrated form — this is precisely what makes it so effective at destroying pathogens. Your technician will remain outside as well.
What It Eliminates
If it's organic in origin, ozone destroys it.
Honest Expectations
We'd rather set the right expectation than overpromise. Here's the truth about ozone:
Most odors are eliminated in one session. Light-to-moderate smoke, food smells, mildew, and pet dander typically respond completely to a single properly-run treatment.
Heavy or long-term odors may need 2–3 treatments. Deep cigarette smoke soaked into headliners, severe pet urine that has saturated foam padding, or long-term mold may require multiple sessions spaced apart. We won't run excessive cycles back-to-back — doing so can stress rubber seals and certain plastics.
Ozone treats the air — not the source material. If urine has physically soaked deep into seat foam or carpet padding, ozone eliminates the airborne odor but cannot remove the saturated material itself. In those cases, we recommend a deep interior clean first, followed by ozone for best results.
We'll assess and be straight with you. After every treatment, we evaluate results before you're back in the vehicle. If we think another session is needed, we'll tell you — and why — before charging for anything additional.
FAQ
Every Question. Answered.
Q. Is ozone safe for my car's interior?
Yes — when performed correctly. Ozone is safe for all standard automotive materials including leather, fabric, plastic, and rubber. It does not bleach or discolor surfaces. We follow proper concentration and timing protocols on every treatment.
Q. How long does the treatment take?
The active ozone cycle runs 30–60 minutes depending on severity of odor. After the cycle, the vehicle requires a 15–30 minute off-gassing period with windows open before it's safe to enter. Total time on-site: approximately 1 – 1.5 hours.
Q. Can I be in the car during treatment?
No. Ozone in high concentrations is harmful to breathe. All passengers, pets, and plants must be out of the vehicle during the treatment cycle. This is standard safety protocol — and a direct reason why it's so effective.
Q. Will it remove smoke smell completely?
For vehicles with moderate smoke exposure, yes — one treatment typically delivers complete elimination. For heavy long-term smoker vehicles, a second treatment may be recommended. We'll assess and advise before and after.
Q. Is ozone included automatically with my service?
Yes — ozone treatment is included with every service we offer. We always detail first, then run the ozone cycle. This is intentional: the detail removes physical debris and residue so the ozone can reach and destroy bacteria and airborne odor sources at the molecular level.
Q. What odors does it eliminate?
Cigarette and marijuana smoke, pet urine and dander, mold and mildew, food odors, musty/damp smells, and general stale air. If it's organic in origin, ozone will destroy it.
